The Willy Wonka of Street Theatre
Am I the only one who hasn’t heard of Royal de Luxe – the street theatre company ?? They visited Liverpool in 2012 with a band of giant(25ft!!) wooden puppets that roamed the streets telling various stories .. it was based on The Titantic last time round. They returned at the weekend to mark the WW1 centenary with a giant marionette called the grandmother ..who spits, smokes a pipe and breaks (vanilla essence!!) wind !...
Does my bumper look big in this?
I know , I know .. I should have been outraged when I saw this! Extra wide ‘women only’ car parking spaces. It’s caused quite a backlash in China as being totally sexist …but I can’t help but like the idea (anything to save the scrapes to my car in the supermarket car parks!) I swear those spaces are getting smaller...
Walking can be fun!
Honestly in my household it’s more likely that mountains will move rather than my family join me on long rambling walk. Instead of walking Gus they come up with a multitude of excuses which range from lame to plain barmy. Bless them for trying and mostly I’m gullible enough to let them off but having read this article I think we need to involve more beer & crisps! Perhaps I’ve found the two motivating factors to...
Feeling sleep every morning, worry no more technology is at hand!
I have to have one of these….in fact every member of my family needs one of these!!...
Guilty Pleasures – don’t feel guilty !
The first two years of Lente D was all based from home and during this time we did find ourselves in a very strange situation socially. Every waking hour was spent at our day jobs or being parents and all that that entails. It meant that every evening I packed stock & orders whilst gorgeous and hard working Ash worked on websites, photography & various technical bits and bobs! When we finally went out (we allowed ourselves...
All Creatures Great and Small
Tonight on the way back from a dog walk my daughter spotted a teeny, tiny baby hedgehog in the middle of the playing field. It was so exposed but what should we do ..leave it hoping it would find its mum, or take it home? The sight of Buddy, the jumpy, ‘gobble up anything it’s path’ Labrador on the horizon quickly made our minds up! Before we knew it we were at home with ‘Dave’ (as named by daughter no. 2...
Summer Ideas for the Family
I’ve been anguishing about my first ever school summer holiday and how I’m going to combine working, looking after Harrison, looking after friends kids as they have so wonderfully volunteered to help me out & trying to fit in some housework. To cope I’ve created a spreadsheet, filled in an actual calendar (yes I know old school LOL) & my iPhone is jam packed with the movements of all members of the...
Saving the Sahara
Having been to Egypt during one of the holidays whilst studying & on a budget that wouldn’t get me up in the air these days I remember travelling across the desert and just spending a few days in a camp in the middle of the Sahara it was amazing – just so inspiring, peaceful and very beautiful. So vey different from anything we see on a daily basis or on a typical holiday and it really was an amazing experience...
