Why texting is such a pain in the neck

A fascinating fact about the traumas of texting. Apart from bumping into things whilst walking and texting, research has now shown that there is a rise in the number of neck injuries caused by texting. They’ve even given it a medical term ‘text neck’. There’s also one called ‘iPad Shoulder’. Errr, I think the researchers were obviously snowed under that day and just said ‘I haven’t got time to think up another name – it’ll have to do!

Anyway, it’s not necessarily caused by how long you spend texting but by the angle you text at. If you are looking down at a 60 degree angle then the weight on your neck is actually 5 times more than when above that. Well, it seemed fascinating to me :)
