Quakers and the history of the British Sweet Shop

Having spent most of the weekend at home, trying to catch up with rest and family time after the hectic week I have let my mind wonder onto all things chocolate and sweet based as valentines came and went….I was just wondering to myself about how & why chocolate bars had become so enormous and so expensive.  I never ever want a King Size anything, just a nice normal Marathon (yes I know I know it’s been updated but I think Marathon is nicer!) and so I was doing some searching to see why all chocolate had “gone large” so to speak…..in my amblings I came across this article

Perhaps I am a bit sad, but I just found this thoroughly fascinating..hope you will too.

Although I am still left wondering why everything went “King Size” !
